The T2 Office recieves art submissions on a weekly if not daily basis. We are constantly responding, suggesting, encouraging, and enjoying the art, but there are never enough hours in the day to reply to everyone at length. While it’s part of our job to serve our community of children’s book illustrators by providing a certain amount of feedback, we can really only ‘begin’ to point aspiring children’s artists in the right direction. And to let an artist know “why” he or she may not yet be ready, in our opinion, for representation in children’s publishing takes quite a bit more time and consideration.

We know from experience that our feedback is, hands down, valuable to artists. Taste and industry climate aside, we look at children’s art and talk with buyers about art every day! We can and will, through our affordable and accessible review service, offer honest feedback that is so important to hear in this competitive industry.

Our Portfolio Review is a one time response “from the experts.” In a written letter (so you can paste it on your studio wall!), we’ll respond to your current portfolio as it pertains to the current children’s market. We’ll point out your strengths, make recommendations on what should stay and what should go, challenge you to “add” elements and/or point out areas that need improvement. Additionally, we’ll share our thoughts on where the work is most marketable and why.

The cost for this service is $65 for each portfolio up to 24 images.

  • Your current children’s portfolio - up to 24 color and black line (if appropriate – that means, if you “do” black line, sure, include some) images. Keep it simple – don’t worry about ‘presentation’ so much as quality of art, good color, and good composition. DO NOT SEND ORIGINAL ART!
  • SASE if you’d like the portfolio returned.
  • Check for $65 payable to Tugeau 2, Inc. or PayPal Payment to tugeau2@sbcglobal.net (please reference this payment in a note in the package).
  • Provide us with your mailing address – all portfolio reviews are sent hard copy through regular US Mail.

  • Send JPGs or PDFs only. Not to exceed 12MB in size. OR direct us to a site to view your complete portfolio.
  • We will not download images from an FTP
  • Send Paypal Payment of $65 to tugeau2@sbcglobal.net or send check for $65 payable to Tugeau 2, Inc. We cannot review your online portfolio until the check is received.
  • Provide us with your mailing address – all portfolio reviews are sent hard copy through regular US Mail.

Expect reviews to arrive within 2-3 weeks.
