Thank you for your interest in the T2 TEAM. The information below is in response to our most Frequently Asked Questions.
1. How do I commission an illustration?
Please contact us by phone or supply us with your project details via email. You may or may not have a specific artist in mind and that’s okay! We’re here to help with your selection based on project needs.
2. Can you send me printed and/or digital art samples?
Certainly, we’d love to share art samples and/or artist portfolios. But we’d like to talk with you first. It’s important to hear all about your needs and project details so we can send you appropriate samples. And, yes, we can certainly send samples electronically. Please visit with our proposals page to read more about what the T2 TEAM can provide you with.
3. Do you have a price list?
No, there are far too many variables that influence price in this industry. But we’re happy to give a close estimate based on your project specifics. Please contact us to share your project details.
4. Are you currently looking for more artists?
We’re always ‘looking!’ If you are an illustrator interested in submitting your artwork for consideration, please start by emailing five JPGs of your work, geared specifically to the children’s market, to nicole@tugeau2.com. If you have an online portfolio or personal website, please share the link in that same email. We’ll respond either way. Please do not send paper samples or portfolios unless we have viewed your email submission and requested the hard copies for further review. Thank you for your patience. While we try to respond within 24-48 hours, well, the incoming email can be overwhelming at times. If you have not heard back within 2 weeks, please don’t hesitate to send a follow-up email to remind us of your submission.
5. Do you provide Portfolio Reviews?
Yes, in fact, we do! This is a new service that we are providing as of October, 2007. Our response has been particularly positive. Please visit with our portfolio review page to read more.
6. Do you provide Manuscript Reviews?
Yes, this is a new service as well. Please visit with our manuscript review page to read more.
*Please note: Tugeau 2, Inc. is an agency created specifically to represent professional illustrators in the business of children’s illustration. We are not a literary agency. We DO represent manuscripts written by the artists that we represent, but we do not ‘represent’ manuscripts if we do not represent the artist as illustrator.
7. Do you work with self-publishers?
Yes, we have on occasion successfully partnered with and provided original illustrations for self-published authors/book-makers. If you are interested in hiring an illustrator for your self-publishing project, please start with a brief EMAILED query to Nicole: nicole@tugeau2.com. Provide a brief written summary of your project, the scope of illustrations needed (number of illustrations and end date of the project), and some idea of the STYLE of art you’re looking for (visit with our galleries and please do mention artists by name). We’ll respond with general idea of cost and set up a time to speak with you personally.
8. Why Cleveland?
Yes, this is a question that’s on the minds of a surprising number of clients and creatives in our fine industry! In 2004, Tugeau 2 relocated from the great state of New Mexico to the ‘north coast.’ Our agency is located in Cleveland Heights, just east of Cleveland proper. It’s a diverse, progressive, and culturally rich city that proclaims itself “Home to the Arts!” Hey, Harvey Pekar lives here. Nicole grew up in this area and basically dragged Jeremy ‘back home’ with her. They are surrounded by family and a nice community. Tugeau 2 finds this location ideal for frequent travel to see clients in Chicago, Columbus, and New York City and participating in SCBWI events throughout the Midwest and beyond. In addition, Cleveland has great sports, great fans, and a really decent cost of living. What’s not to love? So, don’t let those old stories of burning rivers and polluted waters fool you Cleveland IS freezing in the winter and it sometimes snows in May, but for the most part, Cleveland is terrific!
The T2 TEAM looks forward to working with you!
