About the Artist
Joanne Renaud, who earned a BFA in illustration from Art Center College of Design, has been writing, drawing and painting as long as she can remember. She went to college in a variety of places, including Northern Ireland and Southern California, and enjoys history, comics, children’s books, and cheesy fantasy movies from the ’80s. She currently works as a freelance illustrator in the Atlanta area. Her illustration clients include Simon & Schuster, Random House, Houghton Mifflin, Macmillan-McGraw Hill, Harcourt Inc., Zaner Bloser and Compass Media. Brent Campbell
Brent Campbell graduated from Columbus College of Art and Design and currently resides in North Canton, Ohio with his wife, Paula, and their children, Thomas and Kate. Clifford the dog rounds out the family circle.
Brent is an active member of the Northern Ohio Illustrator's Society. He is inspired by classic fables and early nineteenth century book illustrators such as Arthur Rackham and Edmund Dulac. 2012 Illustration -
Gina Capaldi
Gina Capaldi has both written and illustrated books and products for trade, historical non fiction, educational, and the toy industries. She often combines traditional painting techniques and mediums with collage and digital elements to add additional layer of visual story telling.
Her adherence to comprehensive research in historical non fiction has garnered Gina book's major awards:

This book was also included in the 2009 Orbis Pictus Award Recommended Book list by the National Council of Teachers; and, included in Bank Street College of Education's text book (100th anniversary edition) as one of the 'The Best Children's Books of the Year, 2009'.
Additionally, Gina's book, American Indians: Garments, Customs, Legends and Lore, was adopted into the Arlington, Virginia School curriculum.

Holly Clifton-Brown
Holly Clifton-Brown is a freelance illustrator living in London. Her work combines traditional painting with contemporary techniques to create a unique and imagination visual language.
She was brought up in the country side where she loved to look at the pictures in books. Nothing has changed. Then she grew up a bit and started to learn how to draw pictures, except not yet in books, rather on school tables, clothes, and other silly places. Eventually she packed her paints and completed a degree in illustration at the University of the West of England, graduating with 1st class honours.

Carol Koeller
From an early age, Carol believed pictures improved things. This included furniture, walls, and her homework. Fortunately, she eventually found her way to art school, where the pictures she drew were her homework.
Carol moved twenty times before she and her family finally settled in Chicago, where she acquired a permanent address (and an address stamp). Since then, she's illustrated picture books and educational materials for many publications and publishers including Ladybug, Babybug, Highlights for Children, Magination Press, McGraw-Hill, Scholastic and Dutton.

Christopher Lyles
Christopher Lyles is a professional illustrator who spends much of his time working in a variety of media and exploring new fields. Since graduating art school in 2001, Chris has contributed to children's publications, greeting cards, editorial illustrations, and gallery installations.
His illustrations have been recognized by The Society of Illustrators LA and American Illustration. Chris also exhibits his work on the East coast and in LA.

Courtney Autumn Martin
Courtney Autumn Martin graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2006. Working in a combination of traditional pencil drawing and digital painting, her illustrations for children are colorful and friendly, with a marketable style that merges realism and stylization.
Courtney's clients include Abrams Books, Scholastic, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, MacMillan McGraw-Hill, Publications International, and National Geographic.

Janet McDonnell
Janet has been working in children's publishing for over 20 years, first as an editor, then writer and, for the past 18 years, as an illustrator. It's her favorite role yet. Janet loves being surrounded by kids -- watching them, listening to them, and especially drawing them. She is a proud member of the Picture Book Artists Association and the Co-coordinator for the SCBWI Chicago-area Illustrators Network. Janet lives in a suburb of Chicago with her two amateur comedian sons and her amazing husband (who’s also pretty darn funny).

Paul Meisel
Paul Meisel is an award-winning author and illustrator for children. His SEE ME RUN (Holiday House, 2012) was voted a Theodore Seuss Geisel Honor book! Paul lives and works in Connecticut, where Paul and his wife and raised their three grown sons. Paul spends most days working in his studio, which has a nice view of the woods and the backyard--often filled with deer, turkeys, an occasional coyote, and once in a great while, a bobcat.

Maria Mola
Maria is from Barcelona, Spain. And she currently lives in Chicago with her husband and two young sons. Maria is always embracing the adventure of bringing her art to the children's picture book industry. Cheryl Nobens has over 30 years of professional experience in concept, graphic design and illustration of an extensive variety of products for infant through whimsical adult markets. Merrill Rainey
LittleRainey or Merrill Rainey, has been working as a professional illustrator and graphic designer for over 10 years. Merrill is a 5' 7" kid at heart. He uses his youthful memories of growing up as inspiration to draw his imaginative ideas. Merrill likes to think of his illustration work as charming, with a slight modern twist. Jane Smith
Jane Smith loves paper. She has boxes and boxes of it, all organized by color. Her love of paper began with her first collage illustration created while attending the Columbus College of Art & Design, where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Art in Illustration.
Upon graduating from CCAD, Jane and her boxes of paper moved to Los Angeles, where after learning her trade as an Art Director at the novelty children’s book publisher, Intervisual Books, she now works as a freelance Illustrator & Book Designer.
She is an active member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, having co-coordinated the SCBWI-LA Westside Illustrators Schmooze for four years as well as numerous events for illustrators.
Jane lives happily with her family in sunny Hermosa Beach, California.

Judy Stead
Judy lives with her family in Charlotte, North Carolina where she works in her 'treetop studio'. Her playful imagery appears in print and digital media of all kinds. Damian Ward
Damian Ward grew up with ideas that could barely fit in his big, curly topped head and pencils he could barely fit in his tiny little hands. In time his hands caught up to the pencils but the ideas always seem a bit bigger than his head has the space for.
He studied illustration at the Columbus College of Art and Design. Following graduation, he went on to teach art for several years while freelancing in his hometown of Dayton, Ohio.
